Thursday 19th October - IVY BENSON ORCHESTRA, A CELEBRATION OF WOMEN IN JAZZ - £7/5 students

Some of you may remember the wonderful night we had two years ago with the Ivy Benson reunion. Well now the girls are back for another celebration of women in jazz!

Ivy Benson paved the way for the acceptance of female musicians in this country.   She fought against prejudice from the all male 'big bands', and gave countless girls the opportunity to play and earn a living.  This evening is a celebration of that legacy and features ladies who were once part of the Ivy Benson Orchestra. Old friends reunite for a very special evening of jazz.
